Order Description

Task 2: LO2: Understand how to promote the participation and independence of users of health and social care services. Scenario On day 2 of the induction your manager wants you to produce an information pack for health and social care settings, on ways of promoting the independence of users of health and social care services. What you must do.

2.1. Explain- complex information/data has been synthesized and processed in explaining factors that may contribute to loss of independence, non-participation and social exclusion for vulnerable people. (Such as dependence, independence, choice, constraints, empowerment; physical, social, emotional, intellectual factors; changing needs, access to information, participation in decision making).

2.2. Analyse- conclusions have been arrived at through synthesis of ideas and have been justified when analysing how organisational systems and processes are managed to promote participation and independence of users of health and social care services.(Ensuring performance of workers, sources of information for individuals, empowering individuals.)

2.3. Analyse- ideas have been generated and decisions taken when analysing the tensions that arise when balancing the rights of the service user to independence and choice against the care provider’s duty to protect the service users. (Considering possible tensions e.g. Safety verses independence, rights of responsibilities; individuals and others.)
